waiting

Waiting on the edge, on the brink
Trying just to love, feel, and think
Wondering if impending change
Will lead to great joy or incredible danger?

Mind in a muddle, don't know what to think
Feelings all but shattered, scattered, covered thick in dust
Knowing never calms, when all could change within an eyelid's blink
Or when iron changes faster, turning into rust.

So, calm my soul, dear Lord of Light
And lean me on your vast understanding
Hear my heart, take away all my fright

And whisper of comfort and Love everlasting

The Lord is my shepherd and I am his sheep.
He calms my soul whenever I weep.
He makes me strong when I am most weak

God is good.
